Bio-economy is progressing

Summary:
Big players are increasingly joining the global bio-energy economy, with the new fuel laws decreasing the greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 percent. In Finland, UPM has announced a major new biorefinery in Lappeenranta.

UPM is also planning a BTL plant for either Rauma or Strasbourg. Raw materials such as wood chips, stumps and bark will be used.
St1 has been developing biofuel techniques for small car use.

The innovations in the energy industry show that there is a lot of opportunities for bioenergy production in Finland.

The issue is a big one and it requires big money. Domestic renewable energy is becoming a major part of industrial production.
